TEHRAN (Defapress) – According to Arabi 21, Syrian media reported the assassination of Anwar Fawzat al-Shaer, a Syrian political activist, in Sweida province by unknown armed elements.
The report states that this operation is considered a political assassination because the Syrian activist had previously criticized the positions of Hikmat al-Hijri, the spiritual leader of the Syrian Druze.
Two other Syrian figures, Rajeel al-Mutni and Maher al-Falhout, had previously been assassinated by elements affiliated with Hijri.
After this assassination, residents of Sweida province called for a comprehensive investigation into the matter.
Hijri had previously thanked the Zionist regime and Trump in a message for their interventions in Sweida province under the pretext of protecting the Druze. This is not the first time that political activists in Syria have been assassinated under various pretexts after the overthrow of the Bashar al-Assad regime in the country.
